Ideas.

There really is no place like the North East of England. From Sea to Mountains to Rivers, all sorts of natural beauty are on our doorstep.

I am travelling next week and since waking up this morning, I have been preoccupied with my packing and felt exhausted without doing much. Sometimes mental pressures can make one more tired than physical work. My husband insisted on going for a walk. I was running out of excuses and finally gave in. We went out for a walk.

Being in the fresh air and getting the heart rate up, made me realise that I definitely needed this break and it did a world of good to me.

These types of walks have always helped me to clear my head. Mostly looking around at small villages gives me great ideas to work on for my writing. I start building on these ideas, and sometimes I will come home and write everything down. The most accomplished time of my day is when I have done some writing with some new ideas.

Seeing two ducks in the river today, brought me various memories with my children and I came back to write a story. I will share it someday when I am satisfied with it.

What do you do for inspiration for your writing? What gets you going? Do you sometimes have too many ideas, that you forget a few, as I do?

  1. I am sure North East England is as nice as South West England (Cornwall), where I am located at the moment. People will appreciate it more, if they went for a walk, as you described, that you did.

  2. I write, sure. And I am an application developer. This means I have to use logic to solve technical problems. If I have a technical problem that I just can’t seem to resolve, inevitably the shower is where ideas just pop to my mind. I don’t know how many times that has occurred, but many. Perhaps the water and soap frees my mind. For writing my blog, I have not yet experienced writer’s block. But when I do, I should try the showers. 😊

  3. In July I think I might hop a train down from Edinburgh and stop on the way for walks as you describe. I don’t know if there is a pass that allows stopping and exploring on the way. My mate lives in Southhampton and I would like to train and pause from Edinburgh to Southhampton. I might like stops as you have described…along with cozy cottages, pubs. It might be perfect for my intention.

  4. Sometimes it’s good some ideas to avoid anxieties & to get peace of mind by drinking beer, etc. In developing east Africa as you’re not able to practice what you learn good ideas @school but in developed like you there all sort of freedom unless you use it hurt people:freedom of speech, expression, etc.so, you have the chance good ideas like rule of law, transparency, etc.;so, don’t forget them!

  5. Hi Neat post Theres an issue together with your web site in internet explorer may test this IE still is the marketplace chief and a good component of people will pass over your fantastic writing due to this problem

  6. The flowing ideas inspire me to write. When something catches my attention, whether it excites, upsets, or teaches me, I write about it. Writing makes me feel calm and relaxed. Sometimes, when I have lots of ideas, I jot them down in my diary as reminders, so I can write about them later.

  8. Love the picture of Whitby! I spent a lovely week there last year when I was really quite unwell and waiting for surgery. We rented an apartment overlooking the swing bridge with views of the Abbey. Despite poor weather (or maybe because of) had a lovely relaxing time.
