Passage of Time.

Daily writing prompt
How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?

With passage of time, there is so much that has gone on. I never even realised that I am getting old. Savour the moment is my mantra now. Live for today. Do the best now. Cherish the memories.

The River with Time.

  • River seems static,
  • But it really is not,
  • It has changed its course
  • With passage of time.
  • The banks are different every season.
  • The creatures thriving also migrate.
  • It gives back almost the same
  • to everyone with passage of time
  • Be it daffodils to snow
  • It sometimes cannot carry on
  • Then will cause flooding
  • And changes its banks
  • with passage of time.
  • Cities and towns rely on the river
  • Nature relies on the river
  • Flora and Fauna change with the river
  • With passage of time.
  • It is my time to enjoy the river
  • I take photographs
  • I have paintings of it
  • I walk along it
  • Enjoy the full breath of it
  • In my lifetime it has not changed
  • It keeps giving and forgiving
  • I bow to the river
  • for the pillar it has been.
  • The legacy remains
  • with passage of time.

I hope you enjoyed the poem. I was born and brought up in Patna along the River Ganga. I now live near River Tees in a place called Stockton. My place of solace has been these rivers. Do you live near a river? What is it called? Do you enjoy the surroundings? Please do share.

  3. I was telling someone last time that now i live in the present; i so wasted time focusing on the future instead of now that i realized that i haven’t enjoyed life like i wanted even if i had a lot of wonderful time. I still young so i stopped regretting the past and be grateful for today and enjoy it. Great post! 4. Most of the streams I live near are dammed and dry before their flow gets near to me. Rio Salado. Verde River. Gila River. Hassayampa River. Tonto Creek. The Indigenous peoples once experienced them, no longer. Constrained behind big concrete dams, grieved these rivers.

  5. I once lived in a province and life there is so peaceful. Chirping of the birds, whistling of the wind ,the aroma of flowers, the stunning mountains and the calmness of the river really makes you feel better. As time goes by, I have to go to the City to finish my studies in there. I really miss home. That’s why it’s really best to enjoy and cherish the moment because time comes only the memories that will remain. You can go back to that certain place but it will never ever be the same as before. You can’t turn back time so always live with no regrets.
