Sugar Cravings

Today I ate half the tub of Haagen-Dazs. Now I am so full physically and full of guilt mentally. Nearly everyday I make a promise to myself to be good with food.

I definitely will start the sugar craving as soon as my dinner is finished. My head keeps saying no need to eat ice cream but my greedy self hits it off with anything sweet that I can find.

Do you all have any idea how to get over this kind of relentless craving every evening? Please share your thoughts. Thank you.

  1. A few things comes to mind:
    – Why are you buying the ice cream if you know you will binge it?
    – Do you cook? Even simple recipes like cinnamon apples are an easy one and much healthier than ice cream
    – Do you need an extra push to get rid of it entirely? It’s key to understand yourself and whether this is a one time a week occurrence or a 4-5 times a week occurrence.

    My personal recommendation:
    – Set up your environment for success. Don’t have excess opportunity to give your sugar cravings satisfaction. Instead learn to cook healthy, but equally satisfying meals
    – Find someone who can keep you accountable, or a community that matches your energy to get on track (family, partner, could even be here haha)
    – Is the ice cream affecting your sleep? Something I often do is understand the pros and cons of any action that affects my health. So if I know sugar before bed will cause me to lose REM sleep, than I have more motivation to avoid it

I have a few blogs specifically about these sorts of topics if you are ever interested😁

  2. I am having a battle with the sweet stuff still. But not as bad as I once did.
For me. Not buying it and bringing it home is the best thing. But recently, I went out of my way to buy it after wanting it for several hours.
As well as the recommendations here given by other readers, also question the why’s?
Why are you wanting it? Is there a trigger for eating it?
For me, it’s been an emotional thing. So that I have been working on for some time. But because of new triggers I am having my moments.
