Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?

The word “playtime” immediately takes me back to my childhood. Ball games were my most favourite. Simple throwing and catching a ball was fun enough for me. Not sure, what it is about these games, whether it is the touch, talking, moving, seeing people or laughter but I do love it all.

Even now we have balls around the house, both my kids love to play with it. Be it tennis ball or football or simple rubber balls, we start playing with it in the kitchen. Throwball style games or dribbling for longest seems to be the most favourite.

Whilst talking in the lounge or in the dining area, we start throwing the green tennis ball around. Inevitably ends up becoming a competition and a lot of noise when one of us drops the ball. Dodging each other brings in more flavour in the moment.

I could play for ages if I had the time. When I go to a shop I still get tempted to buy a football. In summer, our favourite game ends up being basket ball and who can get in the hoop most.

During Covid pandemic, the ball games thoroughly kept us entertained in our back garden. I always thought myself to be good at catching skills but my kids never can accept it. If we played over a word to see how many drops we had, invariably I would win but none of them took it easily if they lost. I had real fun defeating them.

Laughter and happiness is what we get out of our daily playtime. I think we should all try and have a silly time to let loose. It definitely improves efficiency in our work time. Surely helps to destress. It helps to develop a lovely relationship amongst our family.
