When in conversation, people say “that’s a great question” – I used to wonder in my head “really”. Different ways people make a flow in the talking going. What a great question, really good one, thank you for asking, and my head goes ???????. Now I have stopped asking any question, surely not literally but I make statements now. Speakers take time processing it in their heads. It is a good way to buy that extra few seconds. Don’t get me wrong we all need that few seconds to think and we still have questions and should ask them. When somebody told me- what a good question I used to feel I must be so intelligent at least now I don’t get elated to think – hah me and my intelligence. I am more grounded now and still happy without that good question.
Smart move!! Will try this thanks.
What would you do?People always like to talk about themselves.
This was a good post in your own intelligent way!
Thank you so much
You are right .
Glad you liked it
I like the way you processed people’s reaction and made a conscious change to perhaps encourage them to think more deeply on the subject.
Now that you say – I think exactly that’s what I did but unconsciously. Thank you
