Dove Cottage
William Wordsworth – literally grew with him to be honest .My father was a Professor of English and I can still hear him read this poem and analyse it for me. If I had to recite some lines of a poem it was always from ” I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” They are the most beautiful lines I have ever read. A smile is always brought to my face after reading this
For oft, when on my couch I lieIn vacant or in pensive mood,They flash upon that inward eyeWhich is the bliss of solitude;And then my heart with pleasure fills,And dances with the daffodils.
Well luck has it such that we live under two hours away from Dove Cottage. And England is a tourist place so whoever comes over to ours will be taken there- its almost become customary. Lake District, is, in itself very vast and so scenic.The drive through the hills, woods and lakes is beautiful .You have to see it to believe it.
We don’t get tired of these places as there is always something new to discover. Dove Cottage is the sweetest little cottage you will ever see.The stories about William Wordsworth are told whenever you go and are always so interesting to hear. I absolutely adore the backgarden, especially the high point from where the views are stunning. One can imagine how such beautiful writing can be done in such surroundings. It will keep coming naturally.

Wow such a lucid write up! Wordsworth’s name and the lines from his poem stirred up fond memories if school days. So vividly penned… the use of imagery actually painted the place before my eyes. Shall visit Lake district and Dove cottage one day.
