Finding Pride in Life’s Simple Moments

Daily writing prompt
What are you most proud of in your life?

In my life, I am proud of a lot of things but mostly it sums up to pushing myself to do the right thing. Yesterday, Saturday we had gone to the gym in the morning along side an autumn walk, I had overdone and made myself extremely exhausted. After a good shower I had to sleep. Must have slept for an hour which totally refreshed me. In fact, my husband also did the same.

When we woke up it was two o’clock and sun was bright outside and the weather quite mild. We decided to go for a coffee and may be something to eat. Invariably on days like this we end up in the moors in some coffee shop. It was beautiful driving along the moors then having a cake with coffee.

We crossed Kildale, which is a small village and we decided to look around. In about half hour, we came upon these hidden treasures. The church with its grave yards, the station, the bridges, the stream and of course the autumnal trees, these simply rejuvenated my senses to make further discoveries and look for more quaint little places. I am so proud of ourselves that we came out and found these age old treasures.

I am proud that I pushed myself to get back out and immerse myself in nature and my surroundings. Looking at new things, walking through a medieval village gave me ideas to write, and to come back and read about the village. History is exciting in so many ways. Gods own county, which is Yorkshire, is still to be discovered by us.

I hope you enjoyed the photos. They do not do as much justice but if you want to push yourself and chance upon some mesmerising sites and buildings, please do so. You will love it. Have a lovely and happy weekend.
