Enjoy the most.

What do you enjoy doing most in your leisure time?

The question brings beautiful things to mind. Even the thought makes me happy. Leisure time is when I am not bound by anything. Such times are few and far. We need to make sure that we get the most out of our free times.

I enjoy cooking, knitting, reading, writing, walking when I get some free time. If I think about it then the most I enjoy is cooking. Love to make special things. Cakes and biscuits are my favourite.

I used to make a chicken salad which my father used to love. I would make it quite often. When someone appreciates the food, cooking becomes even more worthwhile. My father and brother would always have something good to say about it. Now my family have a lot of things to say about all the food I make.

I can cook fast though I like to plan before hand. Writing out shopping list from a recipe to going to the shops is also a pleasure. I made an eggless cake yesterday and it is almost finished today. Bearing in mind it is only the two of us at home these days.

Food brings people together and is the best thing one can do to make and keep friendships going. I realised this when I came to U.K., cooking was crucial for our social life. Nowadays we are afraid of eating for health reasons. Probably the right thing. But I will keep on enjoying my cooking and keep my happiness going.

  1. I used to love to cook but that disappeared when I moved to this house, with its horrible kitchen layout & lack of prep space. I’ll sometimes take a cooking class, even if I already know how to make the item, simply to cook in a nice kitchen!

  3. Listening to music is a big one, it’s something I enjoy doing no matter what mood I’m in. I also like watching/listening to documentary style videos on a variety of topics. Something physical I like to do as well is rope skipping (jump roping), it’s very therapeutic for me and it has many benefits. As of now, my newest hobby is reading and writing.

  6. Do you ever make egg sandwiches on toast. Another blogger did. You two might be good companions because he was happy just making toast. You might expand his horizons.

  7. Chicken salad is one of my favorite dishes. My wife has made eggless brownies but not eggless cake. I suppose, in a way, brownies are just pieces of cake.

  8. I would have to say reading is what I do with my leisure time, it’s good for you, and I know how to cook but not too many dishes, maybe I should learn, and cook for people, maybe it will make things better.
