Shocking

Walking along in a cool breeze after a long tiring day near Hyde Park and then we decided we will keep going till we reach Picaddily Circus. Legs were giving up and no strength left even to carry my handbag . I put my backpack handbag on my shoulders . Get to the nearest tube station became the mission because we simple could not walk anymore. All the cool breeze was now hurting. We reached Victoria Station. Saw a sign saying Beware of theives. Oh no phew my handbag is on my back.Quickly brought it in front. Of course the zip was open.My heart stopped , all the blood rushed to my head and I was shaking with anxiety.

Whats gone? My orange pouch is gone- in which I keep my credit card, debit card, drivers license, NHS card and cash. I open my inner zip – its ALL there that I had put in the morning. My sunglasses were still there. I brought my phone out and with shivering hands started opening my phone, shaking it in front of my face,Gods grace it recognised me soon. Where is the banking app- oh come on – found it ,again please please recognise face quickly and it did. Now then, I know there is a way to block cards- how , come on, help, support, balance which page- right here we are- Lost or stolen card- Lost- block it. Breathe.Breathe.

This orange pouch is all in all but that morning I had removed my debit card, license and nhs card from it and also major cash and put it the inside zip. That morning we had gone to Tower Bridge and paid for the tickets with cash which generally I would never do, always credit card. So the pickpocket took my credit card and few pounds and that was all. Gods Grace .Sixth Sense. Blessed. In all honesty I had never done this before keeping things separately but that day I did .

Clutching on to my hand bag we reached our room as soon as possible, made a call to the bank .I had held it all together very well. The bank woman said card had not been used. Tears just flowed and flowed. Happiness , joy, nervouseness, anxious and all the adrenaline just went off. Relief it was. God ,it is something someone somewhere that helped me.I know its not the end of the world but I was so shocked to see my hangbag open.

  1. It’s a shock! Glad you are ok, you handled it so well and that the damage was limited. I try not to carry too much and to put some of it separate but on the other hand you can’t always be so aware of all the things ‘possible’. There is only so much we can do.
