Holiday Memoirs

Day 2

Exploring the transport system in a new place is always fun. We found out about the Hop Card, tap on and off, keep money on it and keep travelling.

The ferry terminal was nearby and we reached there to find Davenport ferry leaving in five minutes. Got on it as I had heard it is beautiful place. Reached there in ten minutes and we wanted to climb the Mount Victoria. It felt very relaxed as we walked along the seafront. Lots of passer-by’s exchanged greetings making everything feel even more pleasant. We found the path to go up the hill and enjoyed the fresh air and great views of the sea around.

Coming down we came through the Main Street with cute little coffee shops. We deserved a cake and flat white while watching the people around us. I love people watching and find it easy to sit and let the world go by.

A great bookshop that I noticed so went in to browse it. I bought a book mark as a token to bring back and put it in my current reading book straight away.

We took the bus back to Auckland so we could cross the harbour bridge.

I had wanted to climb up the Mount Eden too on the same day as the views are immense and the walk is not too hard. We did it and thoroughly loved the day.

Most of the jet lag was over and we crashed out feeling pretty good about ourselves and happy with our itinerary.
