These days when you ring anywhere there can be an automated call handler, you keep holding and you keep holding. Number ten in the queue. It gets better, number five in the queue. Certainly getting better. Number one in the queue. Then I happen to look at the time on the phone- nearly fifteen minutes. Oh no it is my turn very soon. What did I ring up for- kitchen, water or electrics, which number was this for. I am sure they will say the company themselves.
How often does this happen these days? I tend to avoid ringing any of these kinds of number but then one day you will have to ring them as these chores need doing for the sake of the running of the house. Of course I too detest them.
Recently I had to send a patient to hospital, after getting through the queue it was time to get to the right person. Well, I gave up in the end. Patient was sitting in front of me and at least I had his sympathy. The phone music got us both calmed down and we decided to take a different route for patient care which was also safe.
Nothing much we can do about these issues of daily living. Best to keep smiling and be happy in every situation.
Thank you for sharing your experiences! In my opinion what is even more frustrating is when you call a company or service for help/answers and all you get is an automated response. Drives me nuts!!! I want to talk to a person… a real life, can treat me like a personal also, can answer my question that the automated one couldn’t understand, person!!! I’ll wait an hour if I have to… but just be real with me please! Thank you for being real! Good luck with those phone calls… don’t give up… do the dishes while you wait (if you are home obviously) haha that’s what I do now. Thank you!

Wow such a great coincidence. I’m a doctor too in the US army. I’m a single father to my 10 years old son who is currently schooling at a boarding school in Atlanta. I’m currently on a peacekeeping mission outside of the United States and I’m awaiting my retirement very soon. I hope we get to talk more conveniently on WhatsApp if you don’t mind
