What could you do less of?
Television is my greatest friend these past few years. Problem is, I love it. I definitely should watch less. These days my passion for knitting gives me greater excuse to sit in front of the television.

Netflix, Prime, Disney all of these produce superb entertainment. Documentaries, films, series all are good. You tube videos are superb too. They are informative and I choose what I want to see. Normal TV is also a good time pass.
Literally anything that is shown can interest me and bring me happiness. But too much is not good, I get that, but I am not even trying to reduce my time in front of the idiot box. Have a great weekend cosying up on the couch.
I am with you, in my own way…

thanks I will; it all started with a lightbulb moment during a self defence workshop where we did a karate chop exercise and it left me with the feeling there is life still in the old hag: ka-woosh 🙂 now back to basics

Do it! I got rid of my TV about 10 years ago. It was so liberating. I’d never want to own one again now!

That is courageous. Sometimes on holiday there is no tv which does feel good. Thank you

I think it ties back to passion…if you genuinely devote yourself to something you are passionate about, the TV will begin to become an afterthought even without going through the withdrawal of not being able to use it, because the enjoyment it provides is inferior to the fulfilment your purpose provides!!
On a side note, if you could, I’d highly appreciate checking out some of my blogs on neurology at neuralaym.com/posts. Defintely! I like learning vs TV. Watching YouTube enriches my mind. I also like audible books.

I have never tried audio books – thank you for the idea

I find that I am an auditory learner more than a eyes on words learner. I seem to take everything in easier. Youtube has audiobooks you can find for free if you search for them. Or you can do audible for X a month, and you will get credits monthly to get mainstream audiobooks. Being I’m in a tow truck half the time, listening and driving gives my life substance, and bot boredom on listening to the same music over and over. Hope it helps!

Howdy from Iowa I have a cat that can make that possible for you! it took honey three times pushing my TV on to the floor to allow me to have a picture that is not entertaining any longer. my TV now is unplugged sitting on its side looking not artful not warm and fuzzy not even friendly. my TV was the last thing I bought with my inherited money for my mom in 2020. I used it twice a week and pretty bird my bird love to sit and watch it love PBS kids. no no noise coming through my little TV room holds four cats and my bird bird is secure cats aren’t interested they said and watch him but they’re not they don’t know what to do with them so they just listen to him. I used to hear such Glee coming from the bedroom as he sat in his cage entertained and I hear I guess it you can’t respond but you could hear him sing and be excited about the cartoons on PBS it was wonderful. my friend down the street keeps asking me if I don’t want a TV he says the smallest they have is a 30 in I know at Walmart online I can get a 12-in and I can have it in the back where I sit in my office and I can watch it I’m going to move my guitar in the box out of my TV room today I don’t really have room for things in the back kitties poop on the other side of my book boxes and I try not to go back there and that way I don’t know they’re back they’re pooping. it’s my own little delusion. but I have 16 of them only about 12 of them are mine maybe 10 they’re not all mine I did a good deed. the owner of the cats goes on with her life all my money goes into cats my carpet is all crapped up because she didn’t get me enough Cat boxes or cat litter would I needed cat litter right now all my kitties and me are hungry I can’t afford to buy books I sell books I can’t find them to sell them has all my money is allocated elsewhere gee I wish I had my TV back!
